Brother Samaha, a past co-president of the Mariological Society of the U.S., cites Mary’s interventions in history from the Battle of Lepanto and Her appearance as Our Lady of Guadalupe in the 16th century, to Fatima in 1917, and Buffalo native Venerable Nelson Baker’s lifelong devotion to Our Lady of Victory that led him to build the beautiful Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Victory near Buffalo, in the 1920's.
