Great things are happening
for the Arch of Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and International
Shrine of the Holy Innocents! A beautifully illustrated article,
“FATIMA’S PROMISE,” appears on pp.8-9 in the Feb. 11, 2003 issue
of SUN Magazine (now at your newsstand and many store checkout
counters). SUN’s readership is estimated at 1.2 million—this article
will do much to spread the vitally important story of Fatima,
and Mary’s messages of warning and hope. It concludes with a stirring
pro-life exhortation by Pope John Paul II. See full text of

THE
WORLD’S tallest monument is about to rise heavenward to celebrate
the victory of the Virgin Mary and her message of salvation.
The
inspiring structure will be located on the shores of lake Erie,
close to downtown Buffalo, New York. It will commemorate the Blessed
Virgin’s two most dramatic manifestations before the eyes of humankind:
her appearance to three farm children at Fatima, Portugal in 1917
and her appearance as Our Lady of Guadalupe to a Mexican peasant,
[Saint] Juan Diego, in 1531.
The
idea for the monument, called The Arch of Triumph of the Immaculate
Heart of Mary and International Shrine of the Holy Innocents,
came to Buffalo attorney Laurence Behr in a dream. Armed with
a toll-free number(866-205-6512) Behr has built a worldwide network
of more than 70 chapters to promote the project.
The
700-foot arch will be a living testament to Mary’s Fatima visions,
in which she prophesied the rise of communism in Russia, the devastating
World wars and the persecution of the church in the 20th
century.
But
she told the three children that triumph would follow tragedy:
“In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph, the Holy Father
will consecrate Russia to me, Russia will be converted, and a
period of peace will be granted to the world.”
Below
the towering arch, the International Shrine of the Holy Innocents
will feature a gigantic mural of Our Lady of Guadalupe, who put
an end to the Aztec practice of human sacrifice and has become
a symbol of the supreme value the Virgin places on the sanctity
of human life. As Pope John Paul II has said: “This is our cry:
Life with dignity for all! The time has come to banish once and
for all every attack against life. Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, save
the nations and people [of this continent]!”
