The importance of Devotion to Mary is expressed on the back of this card, with her words to the children of Fatima:

"You have seen Hell, where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace."

"In the end My Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate
Russia to me and she will be converted and a period of peace will be granted to the world."

Later, as a nun, Sr. Lucia was again visited by Our Lady and the Child Jesus:

The Child Jesus spoke these words: "Have pity on the heart of your Most Holy Mother. It is covered with thorns, with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment, and there is no one to remove them with an act of reparation." Our Lady was holding a heart encircled with sharp thorns and then She said to Sister Lucia:

"Behold my heart surrounded with the thorns which ungrateful men place therein at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude.

You at least try to console me. Announce in my name that I promise to help at the hour of death, with the graces needed for salvation, whoever on the First Saturday of five consecutive months shall:

1. Confess and receive Holy Communion;
2. Recite five decades of the Rosary;
3. Keep me company for fifteen minutes while
meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary,with the intention of making reparation to me."

Quotations from the Saints also help us realize there is no better way to Jesus than through Mary.    Listen to a few that grace the back of this card:

St. Margaret Mary,    said that "the most efficacious way to have devotion to the Sacred Heart ofJesus is through the Immaculate Heart of Mary."    And her spiritual director, St. Claude de la Colombiere stated: "I turn to Mary and ask her to obtain for me the grace to imitate Our Lord’s Heart.    I saw how perfectly her Heart copied His."

St. Bridget of
Sweden was told by Our Blessed Lord, "the Heart of my Mother was like mine. Therefore I can affirm that we worked together for the salvation of the world. I, by the sufferings endured by My Body, She by the sorrows and love of Her Heart."

St. Thomas a Becket had a special devotion to the joys of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Our Blessed Mother appeared to him and promised to help those who also have this devotion, especially at the hour of death.

St. Gertrude the Great had a vision of three rays of light coming from the Most Holy Trinity and entering the Immaculate Heart of Mary and then returning to God with great speed, to the Source from which they came. The rays represented Power, Wisdom and the Gifts bestowed upon Mary by the Most Holy Trinity.
